|  VertiSpace custom wide-span structural mezzanines
can transform your unused overhead space into
valuable floor space. If you have ceilings 15 feet
or above, your building is a candidate for a
“space-making” mezzanine. Each platform is designed
to fit around any existing obstructions to help
maximize useable floor space. Openings for stairways
or pallet drop areas can be located wherever needed.
We
design the structure to meet your load capacity
requirements, whether it is for light storage,
racking or even fork lift trucks. Our design
engineers can solve complex structural challenges
and incorporate such factors as dynamic force,
concentrated loads and resistance to seismic forces.
Our standard design for deck deflection is l/360 of
the span but it can be increased or decreased based
on your requirements.
VertiSpace’s engineered, nut-and-bolt design allows
for easy and fast erection and can allow future
expansion. All free-standing mezzanines can be
dismantled and re-assembled if your facility moves,
so you can take your investment with you. Since the
mezzanine is free-standing and moveable, in some
cases it may qualify as capital equipment which
allows depreciation in 7 years instead of the 39
years associated with a building addition. Check with your tax professional for applicability.
Platforms can also be designed to attach to building
columns. In this instance they are no longer
considered demountable and are considered part of
the permanent structure.

Catwalks & Crossovers |
 Catwalks
A catwalk is ideal for providing elevated walkways between work
platforms, or to support elevated conveyors. Whether
your application requires a floor-supported or
ceiling-supported catwalk, VertiSpace mezzanine
designers can meet your needs. Ceiling-supported
catwalks have the advantage of providing 100% clear
area below the deck with no supporting columns.
Catwalks offer the same construction options as
mezzanines including deck materials, openings gates
and stairs.
Crossovers
Custom designed crossovers provide safe pedestrian bridges over
machinery and conveyor equipment. A wide variety of
sizes and configurations are available. The bridges
are topped with decking or bar grating, steel flat
plate, steel diamond plate, plywood or other
engineered materials.
Steel can be provided in a knock down or fully
welded state. Typical layouts include a “Z”, “T” or
“U” configuration.
