EZcart Basket Trolley Introduction Guidelines

Why use the EZcart basket trolley?                                       

Customer grocery shopping patterns are changing. People are shopping at their local grocery store more often and buying more fresh goods.

More than 50% of shoppers today use a plastic basket in the place of a regular grocery shopping trolley. When the basket gets full or heavy the shopping stops.

The EZcart basket trolley will convert the basket customer to a basket trolley customer allowing the customer to stay in the store for longer and buy more.

The EZcart basket trolley fills the gap between the basket and the regular grocery trolley.

To help you successfully introduce the EZcart basket trolley in your grocery store, supermarket or hardware store we have compiled the following tips.

At the Entrance to the Grocery or Hardware Store -

• Place nested EZcart basket trolleys at the entrance to the store in a clearly visible place.
• Place the stacked baskets next to or near the EZcart basket trolleys to allow customers to easily place baskets into the EZcart basket trolley.
• Always have at least 5 EZcart basket trolleys made up (with baskets in them) ready to go so that the customers can see how the EZcart basket trolley is supposed to work. Once your customers get used to the concept of placing the basket into the EZcart basket trolley they will do this themselves each time they enter your grocery or hardware store.
• Assemble the Promotional Banner Trolley - one EZcart basket trolley with informational banner attached (available for purchase upon request) and place it at the entrance to your hardware or grocery store near the regular shopping trolleys and the baskets. The Promotional Banner Trolley reminds and encourages customers to use the EZcart basket trolley in the place of carrying the basket.

At the checkout -

• The EZcart basket trolley is designed to take two paper shopping bags on each level once the baskets have been removed. If the grocery bags are packed properly they will fit comfortably on each level of the EZcart basket trolley. If the shopping bags are overstuffed with groceries they will be difficult to remove from the EZcart basket trolley.
• The EZcart basket trolley is also designed to take groceries packed in plastic grocery bags. The EZcart basket trolley has four large bag hooks on the underside of the top basket holder. The EZcart basket trolley also has two smaller grocery bag hooks on the back of the EZcart basket trolley for additional shopping bags or personal items.
• When loading customer's shopping bags into the EZcart basket trolley pack the heavier shopping bags on the lower level of the EZcart basket trolley and the lighter bags on the top level of the EZcart basket trolley. Pack full bags of groceries at the back of the EZcart basket trolley (closer to the handle) and half filled bags in front of the EZcart basket trolley.
• The bag or purse hook on the EZcart basket trolley (item 2 on technical sheet) can also be used to carry shopping bags, especially plastic grocery bags.

If you decide to allow the EZcart basket trolleys out of your hardware or grocery store, make sure that the terrain outside your grocery or hardware store is conducive to the smooth operation of the EZcart basket trolley.
